Spending almost 15 hours a day browsing and working on internet. I was “tooooo” depressed reading articles like “software engineer quit job and travelling the world “ sounds so adventure and amazing right. So i did it so and started travelling the Himalayas solo for 28 months. But guys don’t do that mistake and please ignore all these articles. A good planning helps you travel the world without quitting the job
The main Aim of the trip is travel solo self supported and avoid tourist and get best best experiences as cheap as possible and make some new friends. so the best route is traditional 3 passes trail covering 3 highest Nepali passes ( kongmala, chola & renjola passes) 5300M+, Gokyo Valley , Gokyo Ri (Summit and best view of Everest in the morning ), Cho Oyu base camp covering 6 lakes of Gokyo Valley and view of Everest North face , Kala Patthar, Everest Base Camp, Tengboche and lot more.
Best time to Visit
Mid March to Mid July – Positive :Summit season, less tourists, best price, amazing services.
Negative : clouds will be covering the mountains by 12:30 PM
Oct – Mid December – Positive : clouds will be covering the mountains by 5:00 PM
Negative : Too many tourist, difficult to book the hotels , high price
Travel guide to Everest Base Camp from India
There are 22 CHECK-POSTS ON INDIA-NEPAL BORDER . to travel Nepal for Indians we just need any Govt ID proof no permit is required. fastest way is flights which cost you 65$ (2hrs) one way to Kathmandu from Delhi. Via road it will cost you more cheaper but it will take almost 24 hrs- 36 hrs. Delhi to Kathmandu 24hrs bus will cost 39$. Delhi to Raxaul train (22 hrs)will cost 7$ and Raxaul to Kathmandu shared taxi 10 ppl will cost 3.5$ 6 hrs . Nepal roads where very bad so be prepared.
Nepal got there price tags for almost every thing. no.1 Nepali , No.2 Indian, No.3 foreign national
Kathmandu to Lukla ( world’s dangerous airport ) 30 min flight prices according to April 2018 Nepali -50$, Indian -140$,Foreign national 175$. Never do pre booking for these Domestic flights always try to book instantly with Tara Airlines one of the best.
Everest region permits
Kathmandu to Phaplu 12hrs share taxi 10 ppl will cost you 12$.Phaplu to Lukla trekking will take almost 3 days and it’s a traditional root with no tourist and you enjoy the Sherpa culture and hospitality. there where two national park permits No.1 local municipal permit 16$ for everyone and no charges for Nepali people. No.2 National park tourist permit 20$ for Indian and 36$ for other tourist and 1$ for Nepalis.
Everest Region Trek cost
After Reading so many itinerary Everest Base camp is almost costing 1200$ for just 12 days. There were actually so many cheat codes to complete the trekking As cheap as possible. After travelling for 21 days in Sagarmatha National Park the total cost for the trip was 450$ & 550$(Including adventure insurance). so i want to share complete details and actual costing of the trip here.

Stay,Food & Drinks
This place is world famous for trekking you will be getting everything i am not kidding. there where so many pubs and bars Mostly Irish Bars in the whole route.
But i want to travel like how locals and porters travel so here is the cheapest way of filling your soul with food & drinks.
- Dal Bhat Unlimited (Veg & non veg ) – 3$ to 9$ the higher the altitude the higher the prices are
- Tea – 0.6$ to 2$
- Water – 1 bottle of packed water is 1$ to 8$ ( whole trip i was drinking Tap water and never had any issues ). Gorepsherp they need to melt ice for water so no free water and it cost you 8$ for warm refilling per Litter
- Stay – there where amazing hotels till EBC so no need of tents. almost everywhere free stay in hotels but u need to buy the food from same hotel. If you don’t buy food and need to stay in Hotel it will cost you 20$ – 30$ per night.
- Drinks – Raksi, Chhaang these two where local homemade and cheap. A Pitcher will be 2$ – 6$ and you will be getting beer and other Alcohol as well but very expensive
Things must try – Dal Bhat, hot chocolate, Raksi, Chhaang , buff, yak steak, timbur (the best and only available in here ) and best Bakers are available in Gokyo valley
